Angel HQ is the Wellington Region’s angel investment network. We are here to help young companies with aspirations for high growth get the investment they need to achieve their goals, while generating a healthy return for investors. Although we’re known for our predilection for deals with a certain ‘geek’ factor in them and technology is one of our preferred areas of investment, our members have invested in a broad portfolio of companies in a range of industries.

Angel investors are high net-worth individuals who provide seed capital for start-up businesses, usually in exchange for equity. They also bring business skills, connections and other forms of assistance. Our angels have business and personal networks spanning New Zealand, Australia, the UK, US, Singapore – and Trinidad! And they have experience and networks in the following industries (and many more not listed here):

Our team evaluates companies who apply for funding, who go through the following process:
- Online application
- Phone or Skype interview with club manager
- Pre-screening meeting with several club members
- Invitation to present at a club meeting, held every 2-3 months
Typically, individual angels will invest between $10,000 and $100,000 in any one deal. More often then not, club deals are syndicated with other member clubs, networks and partners in the Angel Association NZ. AngelHQ is SCIF accredited (which means the potential for qualifying transactions to receive matching funds from the Government’s Seed Co-Investment Fund).
